We had a practice where on snow days we would provide transportation for associates to come to work, or we helped them make arrangements to stay close to the office so they wouldn’t miss work. We knew we didn’t control the weather, but we did control how we planned for the weather.
Whether its bad weather keeping people at home or good weather, the point of the practice is we became creative with how we used common sense to deal with absenteeism due to weather. Creating a beach party atmosphere may not be the best solution. But it may not be the worst solution either.
