All Contests should be built on improvement and meeting standards, not pitting people against one another.
One of the Five Fundamentals of Common Sense Success is people skills. In our companies we recognized that if we were going to train our workers–and ourselves–in developing people skills we would need to develop systems that fostered good people skills.
There was no better place to begin than with the way we developed our contests. So we developed a new practice. In our contests, everyone could achieve the same goal equally. Give this practice a try and you will find the word “team” really starts meaning something.
