In Tough Economic Times Get Creative
During a tight economy like what we have been experiencing in our country the past two years businesses are forced to become more creative in order to survive. Sometimes these creative moves not only help the business survive but even to thrive.
Take the creativity of funeral home owners across the country. These days funeral homes are not just for funerals. Thousands of Weddings are taking place in funeral homes. Funeral home owners realized their peaceful and well outfitted facilities could be put to use during a lot of down time. What better use of a beautiful facility outfitted for a specific sacred ceremony than to find more types of sacred ceremonies to fill the empty hours in the building?
Funeral parlors serving also as wedding chapels is a great fit. And yet, even while this creative idea is helping so many funeral homes grow their business, only approximately 10 percent of the funeral homes surveyed in 2011 said they are using their facility for more than funeral service.
What business are you in? Do you own a used car lot? A restaurant? Do you sell articles online? What is something creative you can do right now without investing a lot of money into what you are already doing?
