Take the Risk

In Europe a builder made creative use of wooden shipping paletts. He designed a temporary garden house for a party. He said everyone loved it. He took what was trash to others and made something beautiful out of it for others to enjoy. How are you being creative in your life? Everyone is creative but not everyone uses their creativity to become more successful. The reason is barriers. 1. Negative thinking. 2. Believing creativity is a gift for only a select few people. 3. Lack of effort to try new ideas. 4. Trying something new and failing and allowing past experiences to become a stumbling block to future efforts. 5. Comparing oneself to others. The common denominator to all these barriers is "risk." If you will use your creativity you will have to take some risks. In the place or environment where you work or live everyone has creative ideas for how to be more successful. Husbands think, maybe if I just did something surprising with my wife our relationship would improve. Fathers think, maybe if I surprised my son with my taking interest in his love of music our relationship would improve. A small business owner thinks, maybe if I opened my house to my staff once a quarter for a cookout I could get to know them and their families better and this could improve our communication on the job. But at the end of the day they are just thoughts and we never take the risk to overcome the barriers standing between us and taking action. Decide to invest in your own creativity by taking action on your thoughts. You will be surprised by your success. Let us know what you do so we can celebrate your success with others!
