Employers Prefer Those Who Solve
Everyone sees problems. And everyone that sees a problem analyzes it. Few choose to solve problems however. The Urban Dictionary defines “solutionist” as “somebody who finds solutions to problems.”
How valuable is your creativity? Over 65% of one survey showed that creativity in employees was preferred over aptitude. Why would that be true? Many intelligent employees are not successful. They spend too much time analyzing the problem and too little time looking for solutions.
They become “barrier analysts.” They can describe the problem, tell you why the problem exists and the challenges the problem is causing but they cannot provide you with a solution.
Creative employees will look for a solution to the problem and not just analyze it. Which had you rather have on your staff a creative person who is a problem solver or a problem analyzer?
Become a “solutionist” and you will not only improve your work prospects, your home life will improve as well!
